We leave Hanoi for Highway 4 on our way to Cao Bang province and the lime stone plateau of Quang Nguyen. Along the way we can stop at famous battle fields in the Viet Minh’s war against the French in the 1950’s. We take time to explore back-roads and tracks along the border with China, stopping for a picnic lunch before heading to Pac Bo and Ho Chi Minh’s cave. Then head north through hill-tribe villages, forest and rivers to Bao Lac. The gate way to the Ha Giang plateau. Then climb through the rice terraces to Hoan Su Phi and down to the Dao hill-tribe village of Pan Hou, Bac Ha then Sapa. This 8 day ride has it all. Special jeep 4X4 adventures.
